M.V. Volante is a modern fast charter vessel working out of her home port on Iona. Owned and skippered by Gordon MacCormick, she operates sea angling, sightseeing and wildlife trips from Iona, and from Fionnphort on Mull. The trips run daily from the beginning of April until the end of October each year.

Whether staying in the area on holiday or just on a day trip, you must join one of our daily sight seeing trips around the Isle of Iona, aboard M.V.Volante - a spectacular way to relax and see all the local places of interest. To view Iona from the sea is to view it from a completely different perspective, and when the weather is right, the colours can be truly amazing.

As we go around you will see and hear about, the Strand of the Monks, Iona Abbey, Port Ban, Dun Bhuirg, Captain Brown's Rock, Spouting Cave, St. Martins Caves, St. Columba's Bay, Marble Quarry, Sandeels Bay and lots lots more.

The trip around Iona, which takes an hour and a half, leaves daily from Iona pier at 2.00pm. This trip also includes a visit to Reidh Eilean ( Island of Peace ), one of our larger offshore islands, where you should see puffins, razorbills, guillemots, cormorants, shags, skuas and all sorts of gulls. You will also see seals on the rocks or in the water and there is always the possibility of spotting porpoises, minke whales or basking sharks enroute.
